Mauritius Digital Nomad Visa
The Premium Visa is Mauritius's official digital nomad pathway. It allows remote workers, freelancers, consultants and digital professionals to live and work from Mauritius for up to 12 months, renewable. The government application is free of charge and dependents (spouse and children) are included on the same application.
Who qualifies
The Premium Visa is open to nationals of countries from which Mauritius accepts visa-free or visa on arrival entry (most of Europe, the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa and many others). You must be earning your income from outside Mauritius - the visa does not permit local employment or local client services.
- Valid passport with at least 6 months validity
- Proof of monthly income of USD 1,500 or more per adult

- Health and travel insurance covering the stay
- No criminal record
What the Premium Visa allows
You can live in Mauritius for up to 12 months on a multi-entry basis, work remotely for foreign employers, freelance internationally, manage businesses based outside Mauritius, and bring your spouse and dependent children. After 12 months you can apply to renew or transition to a longer term residency such as the Investor or Innovator Occupation Permit.
What it does not allow
The Premium Visa is strictly for foreign income. You cannot take up Mauritian employment, generate income from Mauritian clients, or operate a Mauritius-registered business without converting to the appropriate occupation permit.
